Listening
to the players talk about softball near the church
stairs, by the water fountain, in the parking
lot and some wives say, in their sleep, you know
the teams love to compete. But don't mistake the
mission of the three teams. As Kelly Corbin states
it is, "to uplift the name of Jesus, and
in doing so, plant a seed among the players on
both teams of the importance of having Jesus Christ
in your life."
They do this through a demonstration of good
sportsmanship, positive role modeling and calling
any and all members of both teams after their
games for a prayer at the mound. This type of
good Christian Fellowship is the dominant mission,
win or lose, no matter the league, Church or Industrial,
or tournament play. Kelly continued saying he
considers the softball team as an outreach ministry.
There
are three teams, The Blue Team which is coached
by Ed Rewis, The Maroon Team, coached by Danny
Reitmeier and the Purple Team, coached by Jeff
Cloer.
If you are interested in playing and it is not
too late in the season, you can go out for either
team, depending upon which team you feel more
comfortable on. Looking at both teams records
you can see both teams are very competitive in
the leagues.
